Mouser is now shipping the new MM8108 Wi-Fi® HaLow® System-on-chip (SoC) from Morse Micro. The MM8108 SoC is a HaLow-compliant connectivity solution tailored to meet the needs of Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. The MM8108 SoC is a highly integrated, ultra-low-power, single-chip Wi-Fi solution offering improved performance in all key areas, including range, throughput, and power efficiency, while also reducing the cost, effort, and time required to bring the next generation of Wi-Fi HaLow-enabled products to market. Wi-Fi HaLow is the first Wi-Fi standard tailored to meet the needs of IoT applications, and the MM8108 delivers over-the-air data rates up to 43.33Mbps at 8MHz bandwidth in worldwide sub-GHz license-exempt bands, with next-generation upgrades boasting 16x better efficiency than standard Wi-Fi. The MM8108 adds an integrated high-efficiency power amplifier (PA) and high-linearity low-noise amplifier (LNA) that meet the IEEE 802.11ah standard, while integrating full MAC and PHY implementations. The MM8108’s RF interface can also be configured with an external PCB-mount PA or front-end module (FEM) for ultra-long-reach applications with leading Wi-Fi HaLow security features (WPA3, SAE, GCMP) to ensure link-layer communications start and remain protected. - New Product – Mouser Now Shipping NXP Semiconductors MR-VMU-RT1176 Vehicle Management Unit, Simplifying Mobile Robotic Designs
Mouser is now stocking the MR-VMU-RT1176 vehicle management unit (VMU) from NXP® Semiconductors. The MR-VMU-RT1176 VMU is a lightweight, all-in-one vehicle management controller solution for next-generation mobile robotics. This VMU features an NXP i.MX RT1176 Crossover Microcontroller Unit (MCU) with a high-performance dual-core 1GHz Arm® Cortex®-M7 + 400MHz Arm Cortex-M4 processor suitable for demanding mobile robotics applications. The MR-VMU-RT1176 VMU also offers an integrated inertial measurement unit (IMU) with multiple sensors for motion tracking and environmental awareness. The VMU offers extensive communication options, including a 2-wire 100Base-T1 Ethernet interface, USB Type-C® 2.0 connector, Dronecode standard JST-GH pin header for interfaces such as I2C, SPI, RC, GPS, and other interfaces, as well as multiple high-speed UARTS for telemetry and other radios, 12 PWM outputs, and others. The MR-VMU-RT1176 is part of NXP’s larger lineup of robotics reference designs, developed to help bring robotics designs to market more quickly and easily. The VMU is easily integrated into open-source real-time operating systems (RTOS) and robotics frameworks, with support for Zephyr RTOS, Cognipilot, NuttX, and PX4, which is complemented by QGroundControl. The VMU features a PX4 V6X-RT (V6X-RT) compliant form factor and a modular architecture with a compute module and carrier board. The VMU supports a range of applications, including factory automation, real-time controllers, robotics, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), smart home and building devices, and agricultural equipment.
