Mouser is now shipping the new Type 2FR Hostless Wi-Fi® 6 + Bluetooth® LE 5.4 / 802.15.4 tri-radio module from Murata. The Type 2FR module delivers class-leading integration, efficiency, and multiple radio capabilities for smart home, industrial automation, gaming controllers and smart accessory applications. The module is based on the NXP RW612 wireless microcontroller (MCU), powered by a 260MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core with Trustzone™-M, 1.2MB of on-chip SRAM, and a Quad SPI interface with an on-the-fly decryption engine for secure external flash access to support dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.4, IEEE 802.15.4, and Ethernet. “Hostless” means there’s no need for a separate MCU, saving cost and board space with ultra-compact dimensions, making it the smallest module of this type with a built-in MCU. The module also provides Matter Network over Wi-Fi, Thread, or Ethernet, prioritising security with the latest cybersecurity standards and compatibility with the Matter ecosystem. The Murata LBES0ZZ2FR-EVK evaluation kit, available to order from Mouser, provides a proven design to evaluate the Type 2FR module.

- Formula E Finale – Mouser-Backed DS PENSKE Formula E Racing Team Wraps Up Another Thrilling Season to Finish in Top 5
Mouser congratulates drivers Jean-Éric Vergne, Maximilian Günther, and the DS PENSKE Formula E racing team for finishing in fifth place overall in the 2024/2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with 184 points. Vergne finished sixth in the drivers’ standings with 99 points, and Günther finished tenth with 85 points. During the season, both drivers scored two podium finishes each, including a stunning 1st and 2nd place double podium in Shanghai. After competing in 16 races across ten countries, the exciting and action-packed season has come to an end. Mouser sponsored the DS PENSKE team for the globe-trekking 2024/2025 season in collaboration with TTI, Inc., and valued manufacturers Molex and KYOCERA AVX. Formula E is an international, fully electric street racing series. Using the latest technology, the DS Performance Team has stretched the boundaries of efficiency and performance with the DS E-TENSE powertrain and software. Using high-performance motorsports, Formula E operates as a testbed to push the development of new technologies for an electric, low-carbon future. The inaugural race of Season 12 will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, on 6 December 2025.

The xG26 System-on-Chip (SoCs) and Microcontrollers (MCUs) feature a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M33 core offering robust and energy-efficient design for future-proofing metering, lighting, IoT, building automation, and smart home applications. The xG26 SoCs and MCUs contain low active and sleep currents, AI/ML hardware accelerators, 3200kB flash, 512kB RAM, and Secure Vault™. They also offer a 2-channel Digital-to-Analogue Converter (VDAC), an 8-channel Direct Memory Access (DMA) controller, and a 20-channel Peripheral Reflex System (PRS). The xG26 family includes the wireless, multiprotocol EFR32MG26 SoC, delivering high-performance 2.4GHz RF, low current consumption, and an AI/ML hardware accelerator with Secure Vault™ technology for gateways, hubs, LED lighting, switches, glass-break detection, and predictive maintenance. The EFR32BG26 Series 2 Bluetooth® SoCs, available to request from Mouser.com, run up to 78MHz, with up to 3200kB of flash, and up to 512kB of RAM, making them ideal for IoT wireless connectivity using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth Mesh. The EFM32PG26 32-bit MCUs are software-compatible MCUs for the EFR32 wireless SoC platform. They are ideal for low-power and high-performance applications.
