Mouser is now shipping the AK4497SVQ 129dB 2-channel stereo premium digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) from Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM). Featuring the AKM’s proprietary VELVET SOUND™ technology, the AK4497SVQ DAC delivers high-fidelity audio with remarkable precision for a dynamic, powerful listening experience. The AK4497SVQ DAC supports digital input resolutions up to 768kHz/32-bit PCM and DSD512, accurately reproducing immersive audio sound fields in high-resolution recordings. Featuring a switched capacitor filter voltage output and six selectable digital filters, the AK4497SVQ allows for flexible sound tuning across a wide range of applications. This DAC achieves exceptional clarity and dynamic range with a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 129dB (133dB in mono mode) and total harmonic distortion plus noise as low as -117dB. Data weighted averaging (DWA) routing technology minimises conversion element variation for enhanced analogue performance. The AK4497SVQ DAC meets automotive quality standards and is ideal for luxury car infotainment applications. The AK4497SVQ DAC is designed for high-end audio applications including USB and Bluetooth® headphones, wireless speaker systems, soundbars, and AV receivers.

- New Product – Mouser Now Shipping New Vishay Semiconductors VEML6046X00 Colour Sensor for Automotive Applications
Mouser is now offering the new VEML6046X00 colour sensor from Vishay Semiconductors. The VEML6046X00 is the industry’s first automotive-qualified, surface-mount, high-accuracy 16-bit, RGBIR colour sensor with an I2C interface. This sensor features highly sensitive photodiodes, a low-noise amplifier, and a 16-bit A/D converter that supports an easy-to-use I2C bus communication interface and additional interrupt features. With separate red, green, blue, and infrared (IR) channels, the VEML6046X00 sensor allows for the calculation of the colour temperature to enable white point balancing for displays in an automotive-grade device. It is RoHS compliant and halogen-free and available in a miniature, low profile, opaque, surface-mount package, operating at a 2.5 to 3.6-volt supply voltage range. The human eye-like spectral sensitivity of the VEML6046X00’s green channel ensures highly accurate measurements, while the IR channel facilitates a stable output over a wide range of light sources. With an ambient light range from 0 lx to 176 klx, the sensor will not saturate in daylight, while its high sensitivity of 0.0053 lx/ct allows the device to be placed behind dark cover glass. This device is ideal for display backlight controls, infotainment systems, rear-view mirror dimming, lighting control systems, and colour recognition in automotive applications. Also available from Mouser is the Vishay Semiconductors VEML6046X00-SB sensor board, an evaluation platform designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the VEML6046X00 high-accuracy colour sensor.
