  • Upcoming Trade Show – Mouser to Exhibit at Hardware Pioneers Max in London, UK – Stand B7

On 23rd-24th April, Mouser will empower innovation at Hardware Pioneers Max 2025 at the Business Design Centre in London, UK. Visit the Mouser team, situated at stand B7, to explore and discover more about the latest trends and innovations in electrical engineering, energy, automation, communication, lighting, and security. At the booth, Mouser will be joined by its manufacturing partner, Microchip. As a leading provider of smart, connected, and secure embedded control and processing solutions, Microchip will showcase its Industrial AIoT demo, highlighting how its technology facilitates AI-enhanced smart factory applications, from the initial sensor data acquisition to cloud-based analytics. Microchip will also display its powerful Configurable Logic Block (CLB) technology that is integrated into many of its microcontroller units (MCUs). The live demo will use Qoitech‘s cutting-edge Otti Product Suite to dynamically monitor and display the energy consumption of a Microchip MCU, allowing attendees to see how CLB handles complex logic without an MCU’s main processor, resulting in ultra-low power consumption. Visitors to the booth will also be invited to enter the CLB Design Challenge for a chance to win a prize. Mouser will also be holding an online prize draw for the Hardware Pioneers Max, where registrants can enter to win one of three Arduino Portenta Environmental Monitoring Bundles. This package enables engineers to create affordable and high-performance environmental monitoring nodes using the Portenta C33 System-on-Module and Nicla Sense Env, which seamlessly integrates three Renesas‘ advanced sensors with the simplicity of integration and scalability of the Arduino ecosystem.   • New Product – Mouser Now Stocking Renesas RA8E1 and RA8E2 Microcontrollers for Advanced Automation and Smart Applications

Mouser is now shipping the new RA8E1 and RA8E2 microcontrollers (MCUs) from Renesas. The RA8E1 and RA8E2 MCUs boast multiple integrated low-power modes and features to improve efficiency and streamline costs for general-purpose and advanced voice, vision and graphics applications in industrial automation, smart buildings and offices, healthcare and medical, and home appliance applications. The RA8E1 and RA8E2 are entry-line 32-bit MCUs based on the Arm® Cortex®-M85 (CM85) core (360MHz/480MHz) with Helium™ and TrustZone®, delivering breakthrough performance (6.39 CoreMarks/MHz / 3000 CoreMarks @ 480MHz,) with fully deterministic, low latency, real-time operation to enable the most demanding application needs. Both devices integrate low-power features and multiple low-power modes to improve power efficiency while still delivering this industry-leading performance. The RA8E1 MCUs integrate the high-performance CM85 core with 1MB Flash code and 544KB SRAM memory, multiple external interfaces and an optimised peripheral set, including an 8-bit Capture Engine Unit (CEU) camera interface that addresses the needs of both price-sensitive and high-performance applications. The RA8E2 MCUs offer 3000 Coremark performance with an integrated high-performance CM85 core, a large 1MB code flash with 672KB SRAM memory, and an optimised peripheral set including a graphics TFT-LCD controller with parallel RGB interface, 2D drawing engine, and multiple external memory interfaces, for high-performance graphics applications.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Offering ams OSRAM Mira016 CMOS NIR Image Sensors for Industrial, Robotics and Machine Vision Applications

Mouser is now stocking the Mira016 CMOS image sensors from ams OSRAM. The Mira016 image sensor is a compact (0.16MP), enhanced near-infrared (NIR), global shutter image sensor. This image sensor is a high sensitivity, small pixel size (2.79 µm) sensor featuring state-of-the-art back-illuminated sensor (BSI) technology. Its small 1.8 mm2 size, configurability, and high sensitivity both in visual as well as NIR wavelengths make the Mira016 well suited for many 2D and 3D applications, including eye, head, hand, and environment tracking in augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR). The Mira016 sensor offers a MIPI CSI-2 interface, allowing easy connection with a variety of processors and FPGAs, and its low active power and high sensitivity in near-infrared (NIR), delivers increased measurement range, as well as overall system power consumption optimisation, which is key for battery-powered consumer and industrial applications like facial authentication for mobile devices and points of payment. Programmable registers, context switching, on-chip processing, advanced power and temperature management, and an illumination synchronisation trigger make the Mira016 a perfect choice for authentication, 3D sensing, wearables and extended battery-powered applications.
