  • New Product – Mouser Now Shipping Microchip’s Solid-State High-Voltage Auxiliary E-Fuse Reference Design for EVs/HEVs/Industrial Charging Apps

Mouser is now stocking the MSDR-EFUSE high-voltage auxiliary E-Fuse reference design from Microchip Technology. Leveraging the benefits of Microchip’s proven 700V and 1200V Silicon Carbide mSiC™ products and other company technologies, this high-voltage auxiliary E-fuse solid-state relay demonstrator board offers designers a total system solution (TSS) to diagnose the status of current, temperature and bias supply measurements of automotive and industrial power management applications all in one reference design to avoid sourcing individual parts. The MSDR-EFUSE reference design, available to order from Mouser.com, incorporates an active circuit protection device with an integrated SiC FET and 8-bit microcontroller (MCU). This high-voltage, solid-state relay reference design features over-current protection (programmable in software), a configurable current-limit profile, up to a 30A continuous output load current, and two modes of short-current detection – edge-triggered and ride-through edge-triggered. Even though the demonstrator board is equipped with only AEC-qualified components designed for automotive and electric vehicle (EV) battery-based applications (400V or 800V), the board also implements a time-current characteristic (TCC) curve based on thermal characterisation that helps migrate to non-automotive applications such as DC solid-state circuit breakers. The MSDR-EFUSE features a 10µs short-circuit withstand time, up to a 20kHz switching frequency and a LIN communication interface for configurability and diagnostics. Target applications include electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), DC smart grids and industrial charging stations.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Shipping TE Connectivity’s LUMAWISE Motion Programmable Sensors, Increasing Energy Efficiency in Street Lighting

Mouser is now stocking the LUMAWISE motion programmable sensor from TE Connectivity. Designed to deliver energy savings and increased security, LUMAWISE motion programmable sensors adjust the brightness of luminaires by reacting to motion. The LUMAWISE sensor is compatible with the Zhaga-D4i ecosystem, a joint certification from the DALI Alliance and the Zhaga Consortium for smart city lighting. The compact LUMAWISE sensors can operate as a standalone control device or together with a Zhaga-D4i photocell or communication node for increased control. A rolling calibration sequence filters out reflected light from the luminaire, ensuring lights are only activated when necessary for increased energy efficiency. In addition, light output is switched to 50% brightness at temperatures exceeding 32ºC. The programmable motion sensors allow for self-defined parameters such as brightness levels, on-time, and ambient light on and off levels. The sensors are powered from the DALI bus, facilitating simple installation. The programmable motion sensors support both rectangular and circular detection zones. The LUMAWISE sensors maintain safety while reducing power consumption in street lighting, park, recreational, and walkway lighting, cycleway stations, and high bay illumination.

The eBook, 8 Industry Experts Discuss Battery Management Solutions, focuses on the battery management system (BMS), which is the electronic control circuit that monitors and regulates the charging and discharging of batteries. The BMS informs the systems of the state of charge (SOC) of the battery, ensures that the conditions are optimal for the battery’s state of health (SOH), and protects the battery from fault conditions that could damage it. The eBook explores proper BMS design and the ways that Vishay helps its customers achieve the best performance and reliability for battery systems.   • New Product – Mouser Now Shipping Renesas Scalable AI/ML Kits, Accelerating Edge Application Design

Mouser is now stocking the RA6M3 AI/ML and RA4E1 AI/ML reference kits from Renesas Electronics. These reference kits are complete reference solutions designed to simplify artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology integration into edge and endpoint systems. Based on the RA6M3 and RA4E1 32-bit RA microcontrollers, the kits enable rapid development of real-time analytics, audio and vision applications. The RA6M3 AI/ML and RA4E1 AI/ML reference kits were designed to address engineering and product development challenges commonly faced by system designers. Each kit offers multiple interfaces to operate as a central node for data collection from various sensors for real-time analytics, audio or vision-driven AI/ML applications. The RA6M3 reference kit includes six Pmod connectors, and the RA4E1 kit has three. Both kits feature Can FD, USB Type-C™, Segger J-Link® debug port, and a camera parallel port. The RA6M3 kit also adds a camera module and Ethernet port for additional connectivity. An onboard MEMS tracking device with an integrated temperature sensor and two MEMS microphones enables positioning and audio recognition applications. A TFT module with resistive touch provides a human-machine interface (HMI) and is used in application examples. The AI/ML development kits are fully compatible with the Renesas Flexible Software Package (FSP) and are supported by Reality AI Software for Real-time Analytics and the Renesas Ready Partner Network for specific use cases.

The 3DM-GV7 IMUs are packaged in a precision-machined aluminium enclosure and tested to an IP68 rating for reliability in harsh conditions. Precision alignment features and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85 °C ensure accurate measurements across demanding applications. The 3DM-GV7 IMUs incorporate an advanced extended Kalman filter and cutting-edge orientation algorithms for improved accuracy and reduced response times.
