Mouser-Sponsored Formula E Team Racing Team Readies for Berlin Doubleheader on Updated Track

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, is ready to cheer on the DS PENSKE Formula E racing team in Berlin, Germany, for rounds 9 and 10 of the Season 10 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The race weekend will kick off on May 11 for round 9 and May 12 for round 10.

The DS PENSKE team is coming off a strong showing at the Monaco E-Prix, where 2022 World Champion Stoffel Vandoorne claimed third place and two-time Formula E Champion Jean-Éric Vergne secured a very close fourth-place finish. The Berlin races will again be taking place at the historic Tempelhof Airport, where the track has been given a fresh makeover, incorporating longer straights and technical sections into a speedy track layout. A major characteristic of the Tempelhof Airport circuit is its abrasive track surface, which is made up of repeating concrete slabs. As a result, drivers have to nurse their tires along the track surface, making for an even tougher test against the speed and the of the track. The new circuit aims to favor the current Gen3 cars (which have proven to be faster, lighter, and more efficient compared to the previous Gen2 cars) with a 2.585 km (1.6 mi) long layout. The Gen3 cars can flex their immense speed along the straights, while the hairpins provide a great opportunity to make an overtake.

The Berlin Formula E weekend will also include a Rookie Test race, with Jonny Edgar and Robert Shwartzman driving for DS PENSKE. Edgar previously raced in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, taking victory in the season finale in Monza.  Shwartzman is a reserve driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team.

Mouser is supporting the DS PENSKE team for the globe-trekking 2024 season in collaboration with TTI, Inc. and valued manufacturers Molex and KYOCERA AVX. Mouser and Molex have been partnering to sponsor Formula E racing since 2015.
