Taipei, July 16, 2026 – As demand for Edge AI and AI PCs continues to grow, Apacer (TWSE: 8271) today announced its latest LPDDR5 CAMM2 memory solution. Designed for Edge AI devices, ultra-thin laptops, and AI PCs, the new module delivers three key advantages—enhanced signal integrity, low power consumption, and high space efficiency—to meet the performance and design requirements of next-generation computing platforms.
Apacer CEO CK Chang said that while DRAM technology has become highly standardized, the emergence of the Compression Attached Memory Module (CAMM2) standard is reshaping traditional memory module architecture. Unlike conventional memory slots, CAMM2 features a low-profile design that mounts directly onto the motherboard and is secured with screws, providing greater system stability and reliability in industrial environments exposed to vibration, shock, and other demanding operating conditions. Its modular design also enables on-site maintenance and flexible memory upgrades, allowing customers to reduce maintenance costs and simplify future platform upgrades. In addition, replacing only the memory module instead of the entire system helps reduce electronic waste, supporting customers’ sustainability goals.
To address the growing AI PC and Edge AI markets, Apacer is actively expanding its LPDDR5 CAMM2 product portfolio. The solution combines ultra-low power consumption, transfer speeds of up to 8,533 MT/s, and high-capacity support. Compared with traditional SO-DIMM modules, LPDDR5 CAMM2 reduces installation space by up to 60%, making it well suited for next-generation computing platforms that require high bandwidth, compact system designs, and extended battery life. The module also adopts fully lead-free resistors, enabling compliance with lead-free requirements without relying on RoHS exemption clauses. This allows customers to prepare for increasingly stringent global environmental regulations while strengthening the sustainability value of their products.
Apacer is also extending its memory technology roadmap into higher-performance applications with the development of a new LPDDR5 SOCAMM2 form factor. Featuring a narrow module design, SOCAMM2 is optimized for the high-density layouts required by AI servers and edge computing systems. The module also delivers excellent power efficiency, stable signal transmission, and effective noise reduction to ensure reliable performance in demanding environments.
Chang noted that the LPDDR5 CAMM2 product family has already attracted strong interest from several leading customers and is preparing to enter the official sample qualification stage.
