CUI and Digi-Key Electronics, a global electronic components distributor, have teamed up to offer their customers a robust portfolio of DoE Level VI and CoC Tier 2-compliant external AC-DC adapters. On February 10, 2014, the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) published a revision to its EISA 2007 external power supply (EPS) efficiency standard, increasing the minimum efficiency requirements as well as expanding the range of products applicable under the new standard. On February 10, 2016 this law, commonly referred to as DoE Level VI, went into effect. In Europe, the EU’s proposed CoC Tier 2 directive, which is even more stringent, looks set to become mandatory Ecodesign rules in January 2018. CoC Tier 2 and DoE Level VI resources available on the Digi-Key website include a Product Training Module (PTM), whitepaper and article.
