New PCB connectors from Phoenix Contact significantly reducing component and process costs now available through TTI, Inc.

May 2017 – Now in stock in Europe at TTI, Inc., a world leading specialist distributor of electronic components, is Phoenix Contact’s world’s first direct connector with push-in spring connection. Thanks to the SKEDD technology, there is no need for an additional soldering process. As a result, component and process costs are reduced significantly. Position, insert, and lock: it couldn’t be easier to connect the new SDC series connectors to the PCB.

The SDC 2.5 PCB connectors are connected directly to the PCB via through-contacted bore holes. This reduces component costs by up to 30% as there is no need for an additional header. The components are easily mounted on the PCB without tools and locked with the integrated body-bound rivets to form a vibration-resistant connection. SDC 2,5 series devices are suitable for conductor cross sections from 0.2mm² up to 2.5mm². The products can handle currents up to 12A and voltages up to 320V (IEC). With a pitch of 5.0mm, the connectors are available in versions with up to 16 positions. Thanks to the push-in connection, they offer an unprecedented level of convenience when it comes to device connection.
