KEMET’s new High Voltage C0G Ceramic Capacitors meet wide bandgap semiconductors trend in automotive and commercial applications – now in stock at TTI, Inc.

High ripple current capability; low inductance and ESR vs frequency; automotive grade series meets AEC-Q200

February 2018 – KEMET has expanded its commercial and automotive grade high voltage C0G Ceramic Capacitors as increasing use of wide band power semiconductors in power electronics applications drives forward new inverter and DC/DC converter designs with far greater power density, voltage, current and frequency. Now available in Europe through TTI, Inc., a world leading specialist distributor of electronic components, these new KEMET capacitor ranges offer solutions for new generation power electronics used for alternative energy applications, while the automotive grade series meets the demanding Automotive Electronics Council’s AEC-Q200 qualification requirements.

KEMET’s patented high reliability base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system is 100% Pb-free, RoHS compliant and REACH compliant without exemptions. The devices boast industry-leading CV values, high volumetric capacitance with low leakage current and high thermal stability. Low inductance and ESR versus frequency allows for very high ripple current capability. Available case sizes are 2824, 3040, 3640, and 4540 available to increase capacitance up to 150 nF with voltages up to 2,000V.  A SnPb-plated termination finish option is available upon request (5% Pb min).

Applications for KEMET High Voltage C0G ceramic capacitors include switch-mode power supplies, high voltage coupling and DC blocking, lighting ballasts, voltage multiplier circuits, DC/DC converters and coupling capacitors in Cuk converters.
