u-blox announces that two of its products have been used by Cobilsys to create South Korea’s smallest battery-powered asset tracking device.
The ATPACK tracker measures 53 x 48 x 15 mm and can be used to track the location of items such as cars, motorcycles and pets. At its core is the u-blox EVA-M8M, the industry’s smallest concurrent GNSS module, which can work with GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou.
Complementing this location-tracking module is the ultra-compact u-blox SARA-U270 HSPA/GSM communications module, which transmits the asset’s location via the local cellular network.
Cobilsys chose the u-blox modules for its tracker because of their small size and high power-efficiency, which enables the ATPACK to run on a compact and single 700mA battery for up to five days. The u-blox technical support team worked closely with Cobilsys to create the tracker.
In the long term, the ATPACK will extend the scope of its applications.
